KAIROS celebrates Friedrich Cerha's 93rd birthday in February 2019 with the release of the 1988 recording of his dadaistic cycle "Eine Art Chansons", performed by HK Gruber. While this it might be a surprising work for many of Cerha's fans, it is by no means untypical for Cerha's unique grasp of the 20th century diversity of musical styles and genres. Cerha in his own words about the music of his late years: “Despite my age, I am always searching for something new. The path on which I search leads me unavoidably back to me. Thus, it is also always about finding new sides of myself. The intense experience of music is a way into one’s own being- for the listener too.”
