"Hurricane? What hurricane?" This was the sentiment expressed by a veteran group of Jamaican musicians/ singers as they wrapped up their recording session in the early morning hours of September 20, 2005. They had been laying tracks at Pine Grove Studio in Miami, Florida, and were not going to allow the fast approaching Hurricane "Rita" to interrupt this project that they had waited so many years to do. With years of combined experience in almost every genre of music, these entertainers have recorded for world-renowned producers such as Chris Blackwell, Duke Reid, Eric Gale, and the Trojan Label in the early years. Their most recent work with American producer Richard Feldman, resulted in the 2004 Reggae Grammy award winning album "True Love," with Toots and the Maytals. The group, comprising of vocalist Leba Thomas, bassist Jackie Jackson, rhythm guitarist Rad "Dougie" Bryan, lead guitarist Carl Harvey, drummer Paul Douglas, keyboardist Charles "Bulgie" Farquharson and guest keyboardist Norris "Noriega" Webb, has been the mainstay of the Maytals band for many years. For this album, they have teamed up with veteran Jamaican producer Newton "Bolivar" Simmons to co-produce a collection of original and cover tracks that have been arranged to blend elements of R&B, Rock, Funk, Latin and Rap music with traditional Reggae grooves. To music lovers of all genres and fans who have had the pleasure of meeting and hearing this incredible group of entertainers do their thing, this album will surely be a very special treat, that has been long overdue...
