Humain
Original songs performed in French. All in all, a masterful, soulful and satisfying via an acoustic group of musicians coming from a Jazz background! Sylvain on Guitar&Voc The music of Sylvain is fresh and attractive. But, it is also familiar. This is because the compositions, all original, draw from many diverse styles. This is not "world music" per se, but the flavor of the tunes ranges from Gypsy, Jazz, European, Brazilian, and Middle Eastern and pop, all tied together by lyrically crafted melodies, choice harmonies and Sylvain's French vocals - vocals which can be wistful (N'fais pas d'bétises), to positively gritty (NOLA). He has been a jazz guitartist and a TV composer for over 25 years and put together this solid trio featuring his skillful guitar playing and an in-the-pocket rhythm section of acoustic bass and hand percussion. All in all, masterful, soulful and very satisfying music. Eric on Upright Bass Has played the bass professionally for 32 yrs. He's performed throughout the States, Canada, Brazil, France, and the Caribbean Mark on Hand Percussion Began playing the drums at age 7. He is a graduate of the School for Creative & Performing Arts, studied at a College-Conservatory of Music, has played in orchestras, jazz ensembles, musicals, also travels and performs around the US with an Irish/folk-rock ensemble. The trio soon to be joined by a keyboard player playing Hammond B3 or M3 organs and acoustic piano. This 1st album also features great musicians like Paul Patterson on violin and strings, Eugene Goss on congas, Biilly Larkin on piano, Sylvia Mitchell on accordion, Chris Philpotts on English horn and Tom Millard on shakers.
