This trio album features Wayne Wilkinson on guitar with Chuck Redd on drums and Michael Bowie and Nicki Parrott alternating on the upright bass. It is apparent that the musicians are no strangers to one another; their levels of communication and interaction are outstanding. The quality of the recording and the balance among the instruments enhances the “you are there” sound. Wilkinson, a Benedetto artist, is a straight-ahead jazz guitarist of exceptional ability. Legendary jazz guitarist Johnny Smith called him “One hell of a guitar player” and renowned jazz trombonist Bill Watrous said “I don’t think I’ve every heard a more magnificent guitar player.” All of the tracks, arranged by Wayne Wilkinson with the exception of Lover, are notable and include a variety of tempos, keys, and styles and were included because of their melodic qualities and interesting chord progressions.
