As is to be expected, the resultant score is a panoply of musical styles, from Southwestern twang to noise assault, all beautifully executed by John Zorn and his frequent film-music cohorts Robert Quine, Marc Ribot, and Cyro Baptista. There are small instances of theme recurrence throughout the album, but Film Works, Vol. 5 is mostly an entertaining musical ride.
