‘Bedsheets’ is the debut single from Nashville based indie-folk artist Glenn Echo. A hazy vignette of two lovers awakening, ‘Bedsheets’ provides a playful sensuality. Combining the heavy beat of dixieland jazz, gospel inspired harmonies and sultry slide guitar, Glenn Echo achieves a warm and easygoing sound like the dog days of summer. Recorded to tape, ‘Bedsheets’ has a lo-fi, retro filter that offers a sated depth. Like that of Blake Mills, the track was produced to expand the organic, breezy textures of horns and vocals while maintaining a punchy edge carried by slide guitar. Featuring Matt Gaydar (guitar/lead vox/backing vox), Jeremy Rosen (backing vox), Peter Brownlee (piano, production), Brennan Dugan (upright bass), Sam Walker (drums) Chris Rymes (trumpet) and Braxton Nicholas (tenor saxophone), Glenn Echo brings us a vinyl inspired sound that is both nostalgic and contemporary. 'Waking Up' is a study on the twilight time between open eyes and sleep.
