Lavelle is back with the fourth installment of the Soul Piano collective! However as we were preparing this press release he called us and said he would like it to be in ‘his own words’. And so here he is: “As many of you know by now I've been producing R&B and hip-hop records through the 80s and 90s and the new millennium. So…what I wanted to do with this jazz album is create an album with the flavor that I've used in my productions throughout these years. So you're going to hear a lot of R&B vocals, a lot of Soul grooves and even some Hip-Hop grooves. Now , as usual, there will be some critics that will say that these records don't have a place in ‘jazz music’. But anyone who's listened to Volumes 1 to 3 know that that's never stopped me before! I don’t make music for the critics…I make music for YOU--the FANS of music! Lastly, I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it for you!
