"Mommy I Wish" is a song inspired by the true life experiences of a non-verbal special needs child and the abuse he faced while attending school. The song-writer, Richard Stripp, is also the author of the book, "Mommy, I Wish I Could Tell You What They Did To Me In School Today". Mr. Stripp worked in schools that serviced children with special needs for nearly a decade. After witnessing and reporting numerous cases of what he considered to be bullying, abuse and neglect of students by various staff members, he wrote the book and, subsequently, the song. It is Mr. Stripp's hope and desire that through song, public awareness can be created that will lead to change; change that will ensure that individuals with special needs will always be treated with the dignity and respect that they deserve.
