Koncept - MC, Songwriter Koncept has been writing rhymes since the age of 9 years old in 1986. As an MC, he has been spitting since 1994. He was part of a duo with former partner Komplex in a group called Illustrations of Frustration from 1995 to 1999. During that time, he has performed at various venues all over Philadelphia with occasional guest appearances with the fellow Philadelphia group "NAME". As well, he performed at various colleges with including his own Lincoln University where he ran an underground Hip-Hop show spinning records in 1998. As a cipher veteran, he adjusted to solo status in 1999 winning "MC of the Week" and "MC of the Month" on various internet Hip-Hop sites such as KillingFields.com and OnlineHipHop.com. In 2000, he linked up with his current crew, a collection of MCs from diverse areas in Philadelphia, called Strongarm. Currently, Koncept is affiliated with Biomimic alongside of fellow MC/producers Diggs and Brihanu. "Biomimic's sound could be described as underground, but cannot be compared to each other, as our styles are eclectic." Biomimic's main focus is to uphold "grassroots vintage basement Hip-Hop lyricism". The main goal is to have a positive musical impact nationally and worldwide.
