Mixing a blend of optimistic late Seventies/early Eighties powerpop with the emotional realism and intensity of blues, jazz and rock 'n' roll, Edgy wanted Go ManGo to reflect the spontaneous sound of their live set. So, why Go ManGo? Edgy were inspired by the phrase 'Go Man Go!' on a poster for the 1950s Brit teen exploitation Beat Girl (1959), Mangoes are also thought to be natural anti-depressants and so the band merged the two ideas together. From this point cover artwork of board games of yore (complete with Waddington style rules) was produced, which fitted in with the song Roll the dice, about the emotional games people play with each other. You know it's like a metaphor. With toe-tapping tunes written by Ed Dyja, and edgy production by Richard Holford, Go ManGo will make you want to roll the dice and play.
