careful where you put your time
The second formal solo release, this album rocks with abundant harmonies, layerings, and experimental changes with curious melodies. The instrumentation consists of both electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitar, moog (analog synth from the 70's), air organ, a drum kit, tambourine, and other percussion, and many vocal layerings. Lyrically you'll find the majority of the content to be about a cry for an understanding of who god is and who i am, and how that whole thing works. i was raised a christian, and during the years of this record, i completely hit the reset button, and began a searching for a truth a new. searching for answers... this album reflects the struggle for finding answers in the midst of a superficial world and illustrates the every-day life in a new and refreshing way. p.s. feel free to visit www.lapseandrecover.bandcamp.com for more and more recent music that i've made! Ciao! pps i was talking to a friend about this album the other day. i was explaining to him how sometimes i would create the songs from an initial drum track then add guitars and bass and begin to structure the song with melodies and little highlights and then i would reach a point where it was time to add the vocal track; i would grab my journal flip through the last few pages and begin to sing about whatever i was thinking about then. it is just interesting how out of years of journaling only a few pages actually get to become song words on an album. i explained to him that a song is like a loaf of bread that it starts with a dough starter and as we work on it we knead it more and more eventually getting the airbubbles out and adding spices as we knead it more. some of these pieces are more kneaded than others are.
