Accordion virtuoso Sunny Sauceda, a San Antonio native, embarked on his musical journey at age 5 with Los Monarkas de Mario Alberto, his father's group. Transitioning to the Tejano scene, Sauceda's accordion skills flourished alongside Eddie Gonzales y Grupo Vida. Their dynamic partnership revolutionized the Tejano stage. Sauceda, endorsed by Hohner accordions, earned Tejano Music Awards and collaborated with artists, including providing accordion lessons to Emily Robison of the Dixie Chicks. In 2004, Sauceda, Joel Guzman, and David Lee Garza formed a trio, releasing "Polkas, Gritos, y Accordeones," winning a GRAMMY and a Latin GRAMMY in 2005. Departing Grupo Vida in 2005, Sauceda launched his solo career with Tejas Records, producing chart-topping albums like "Sunny Sauceda" and later founding Solstice Records. Inducted into the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame in 2017, Sauceda received acclaim for releases like "Camaleon" and collaborations with Latin Christian Artist Raul Sanchez. In 2019, Sauceda was named Entertainer of the Year at the Tejano Music Awards. Currently, Sauceda and Todo Eso, his band, are on their 7th studio release, "After Party." The album, featuring hits like "Solo Es Ella" and "Pa Mi Todita," reflects Sauceda's response to the pandemic, offering a musical "After Party" as an outlet for people's pent-up energy.
